The "SL-CUBE" is an auxiliary device aimed at preventing the complete collapse or failure of buildings as an earthquake countermeasure. It consists of individual cubic units cut from square steel pipes, which are bolted together in layers. The layered cubes absorb energy progressively through an axial force transmission mechanism.
